Super Blue Blood Moon composite over Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri River

The Super Blue Blood Moon was certainly awesome to see. I woke up early without a plan and only a spot in mind to view this rare event. With high clouds and haze in the sky, the viewing conditions weren’t the best, but okay. I was armed with two cameras, two lenses, and a tripod (forgot my other one). The idea for this composition came about after I had shot everything. I stitched and blended two wide angle shots of KCK together. The first shot taken at the beginning, and the second taken at peak, which also happened to be sunrise. In between, I used my long lens to shoot the moon throughout the eclipse, to build out the composite of the moon phases. Not too bad for going in without a plan. (131 of 365) #kansascity365
