Supermoon over Kansas City

Supermoon over Kansas City

Supermoon over Kansas City

A couple walked in front of my camera as we were awaiting the Supermoon.

Sunset on the night of the Supermoon

Last Sunday was the only Supermoon of 2017, and Angela and I ventured out to snap some photos of it. We setup shop on the westside of the city overlooking the West Bottoms and Downtown into the Crossroads district. We started the evening with an incredible sunset, followed by a nice blanket of clouds. The clouds later broke momentarily and we were able to snap a few good shots of the moon over the Western Auto building and Union Station.

If you didn’t get a chance to check out the Supermoon this time around, don’t worry, the next two supermoons occur in 2018, and both happen to be in January! The first one will be January 1st and the second January 31st.

My KansasCity365 project on Instagram is in full swing and will likely drive me crazy at some point. My goal is to show 365 different photos of Kansas City, over the next year. Angela recommended I put all of the photos into a book at the end of a project. so look for details on that next year sometime. Follow along on Instagram, if you already don’t.

Keep up on Flickr and Instagram for more frequent posts. Also, if you’d like prints, head over to Society6.
